September 18: S’more Fun at Camp Archbald: Looking forward to 100 More Years of Adventure
Time 9am-6pm
Cost: Varies – $35 event fee, $8 box lunch (optional) $70 for Friday overnight, Sat day and Sat lunch.

Last day to register: August 15th at midnight. No exceptions. No walk-ups will be accepted the day of the event.

A do over from 2020. All are welcome! Come out to camp for traditional camp activities such as boating and arts and crafts. Find people who went to camp the same years as you for our decade photos, and spend the evening with a campfire and s’mores. Volunteers needed to help run activities. Want to help or have questions? Please Note: Currently registered Girl Scouts (ages 5-18) can attend the event during the day for free, but they must come with a paying adult. Please note the name of the accompanying adult on the girl registration. Unless you choose to add in the lunch option, you are responsible for your own lunch.

This event is open to any and all that want to come. Unless you are a currently registered Girl Scout (ages 5-18), all participants need to pay to attend. Just like any other large event, we have expenses we need to cover and your registration fee helps to offset those costs. We appreciate all paying participants especially any SoCA committee/board members and volunteers. It helps to defer some of the cost from SoCA, and allows us to offer a fun, safe, and interactive event celebrating 100 years at Camp Archbald! Questions or concerns? Morning Activities:
9:00 to 10:15am – Camp Tours
9:00 to 10:15am – Games on Schooney Lawn
10:30 to 11:30am- Opening Ceremony
11:45am – Decade Photos for everyone who attended Camp Archbald as campers/counselors/staff
12:30-1pm – Songs on Schooney Lawn

Lunch: 1-2pm
For those who ordered a box lunch, you may pick it up in the Dining Hall – Eat where ever you wish! If you did not order a box lunch, you are responsible for bringing your own lunch. Food will not be available for purchase on site.

Afternoon Activities:
2:15 – 5:30pm – Arts and Crafts
2:15 – 3:45pm – Boating
4-5:30pm – Archery
6:00pm – Evening flag ceremony & Time Capsule Dedication
6:45pm – Evening campfire (bring your chair and your s’more stick!)

Complete 10 tasks about Camp Archbald and e-mail or mail the request back for your special edition girl-designed 100th anniversary patch! Our patch was designed by Maddy O. from troop 50774! The boxes include everything you need to complete the activities and takes an average of 2.5 hours to complete, with 3+ hours for younger girls.

To further celebrate the 100 year anniversary of CA, we will be putting out a ‘zine comprised of submissions from our camp community: you folks! We are asking that you submit drawings, poems, stories – anything that reminds you of camp that you want to share with everyone! Camp songs are not allowed. You can submit to Noah Penny at 1 Bypass Lane Chapel Hill, NC 27517 or emailed to noahpenny3@gmail.com with the subject line “Zine Submission.”

Now is the perfect time to head to your local library to check out SoCA’s 100th anniversary display of Camp Archbald memorabilia. Rotating all over NEPA, the display showcases old photographs, camp guides, gear, post cards and more! The oldest item dates back to 1930!
