SoCA has prepared this special virtual box of activities to commemorate Camp Archbald’s 100th Anniversary. Refer to the activities list below and the supporting documents to complete the activities. Upon completion of the activities, you can request 100th Anniversary patches for yourself and your girls using the PATCH REQUEST FORM. In addition to the patches, you will receive materials to make a special Camp Archbald 100th Anniversary swap! Email questions to centuryteamforsoca@gmail.com – subject line – patch in a box
Activities:
- Learn the Camp Archbald song.
- Write a thank you note or email to your troop leader, favorite camp counselor or Girl Scout alum. Their day will be a special one when they receive your note!
- Learn about the origin of Earth Day
- Make flat Juliette come alive! Post a photo on social media of her with anything Camp Archbald related. Be creative! Use the hashtag, #camparchbaldturns100
- Learn about recycling and think about ways you can recycle at home or at camp.
- Grab a buddy and play Camp Archbald trivia.
- Research GS Alumnae who have a career in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math).
- Create artwork on what Camp Archbald means to you. Be creative! Use whatever materials you wish to design a small poster showing what camp means to you.
- Take a selfie holding your Camp Archbald artwork and post it on social media. Who knows, your poster might show up in some of our marketing materials. Use the hashtag #iamcamparchbald
- Think of a way to commemorate the next 100 years of Camp Archbald. Email your idea to centuryteamforsoca@gmail.com with the words “Next 100” in the Subject. Your idea will be entered into a contest with the winner announced at the September 2021 camp celebration event.
